What's new: AgentCash is a service that lets software developers charge — rather than human users — tiny fractions of a cent each time those agents make a request to an API. Instead of subscriptions or invoices, payments happen automatically per call.
How it works: A developer adds a few lines of code to their existing API, then publishes a discovery file that tells any passing AI agent what the service does, what it costs, and how to call it. AgentCash handles the payment plumbing using open standards called and . Once listed, the API becomes discoverable to agents running inside tools like , , and .
Why it matters: Online advertising depends on human eyeballs, and AI agents have no eyeballs. As more internet activity flows through automated agents rather than people browsing manually, the traditional ad-supported business model stops working. A pay-per-request model is a direct attempt to build a new commercial layer underneath the agent economy before that shift accelerates.
